Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer, and songwriter for many years. Sara Ramirez was brought up with her American mother. She encountered a number of racial slurs that made her feel unwelcome. After entering a ninth-grade school audition where she was praised for her voice as she built confidence. This not only increased the confidence of her, but altered the direction of her career. She graduated from New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. At the age of 23 she started her professional career, making her first appearance on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films with You've Got Mail. Her biggest breakthrough was when she played the part in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway production of Spamalot winning not just an award called the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. Later in the same year she joined the ABC series Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider appreciation for her performance. She is known as a performer and has also released a single as well as an extended version of her play. She has also been a vocal advocate for LGBT concerns.
